It's Henry Cavill's last ride around the Continent as Geralt of Rivia in The OKASANNOANARU-02WitcherSeason 3 before Liam Hemsworth takes over the lead in Season 4. Before then, however, Netflix has tossed us a coin, announcing the series release date with a monster-packed teaser.
Showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich brings Netflix's adaptation of Andrzej Sapkowski's novels into its third season, which picks up where we left off — remember what happened in the witcher stronghold Kaer Morhen with Ciri (Freya Allan) being possessed by Voleth Meir last season? And that cheeky tease of the arrival of the Wild Hunt, the main villain from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt? Well, Geralt is determined to keep his ward safe from further harm, taking her with his eternal "it's complicated" love, the powerful sorceress Yennefer (Anya Chalotra), to the fortress of Aretuza.
Season 3 will focus on Aretuza, a magical academy where Gerlat hopes Ciri will get a handle on her power, but as is the way of the Continent, there's plenty of politics, corruption, and dark forces at play. Alongside the core trio, Joey Batey will return as the bard Jaskier, Anna Shaffer as the ever-kickass Triss Merigold, MyAnna Buring as sorceress Tissaia de Vries, Eamon Farren as reformed Nilfgaardian warrior Cahir, and plenty more.
