Solo: A Star Wars Storyis about to hit theaters,Ongoing Archives and its stars — Donald Glover (Lando Calrissian) and Alden Ehrenreich (Han Solo) — have been making the rounds promoting the film.
The two stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Showin an episode that aired May 21to share a bit about the audition process, meeting with their character's predecessors, and how full-circle this moment really is for them.
SEE ALSO: Donald Glover gave us the perfect '80s music video during 'Saturday Night Live'In addition to sharing how many times each had to audition (7 for Glover, 6 for Ehrenreich), Glover opened up about how his first toy as a child was the Calrissian action figure — and how now his son plays with the action figure of Glover and understands that it's his dad.
Ehrenreich also spilled about being anxious about his music selection with Glover in the area. "We listened to somewhat different stuff," he shared. "I was always in the makeup trailer trying to figure out what would seem cool to play when [Glover] came in...I never figured it out," he said laughing.
He tried Bob Seger, The Eagles, and more — none of which worked. "He likes music where it's like 'we're going to get away from this town,'" Glover observed.
