But while Game Science CEO Feng Ji shared in a post on the Chinese social platform Weibo that his firm’s flagship game winning three awards on Steam wasn’t a surprise to him, he also noted that an Xbox version of the title is still some way off. Feng pointed to the memory limitations of the Xbox as the reason for this delay, stating that creating a 10GB shared memory version of a game is really hard to handle without years of optimization experience. Black Myth: Wukong was released on PlayStation 5 and PC on August 20, 2024, but the Xbox version has been indefinitely postponed. [Feng Ji’s Weibo, in Chinese]
